Rhapis Excelsa
Also called the Lady Palm, Rhapis is indeed a no-fuss beauty. Low light? It’ll grow. Almost no light? Even then it’ll be hard to kill. Forgot to water it? No worry, it’ll remain tall and majestic. Really, a delightful species, probably from Southern China and Taiwan, which has now gone global.
However, there is an element of distress here. There are no Rhapis palms in the wild now! Yes, all mother plants are from cultivated sources in China, with no records of its natural occurrence in the forests.
Nevertheless, this evergreen houseplant lives in many hearts, both as a landscape feature and a room décor item.
